This video, presented by Dr. James Slobodzien, combines an acoustic performance of the song “Jehovah Jireh” with a theological teaching based on Genesis 22:8 (New Man Bible Theology). Dr. Slobodzien explains the historical and spiritual context of Genesis 22:8, where Abraham tells Isaac that GOD will provide a Lamb for the Sacrifice. The teaching shifts the focus away from “health and wealth” interpretations of GOD’s provision.
Instead, Dr ROC argues that the ram provided to Abraham was a TYPE of Christ —the Lamb of GOD (Jesus Christ) who would be sacrificed for the sins of the world. The Apostle Paul tells us that the promises of GOD made to Abraham were fulfilled in JESUS CHRIST, and that believers who have the Spirit of Christ dwelling in them share in this spiritual inheritance: “The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning One person, who is Christ” (Gal. 3:16).
Paul here, is telling us that all GOD’s promises were spoken to only one (1) of Abraham’s children ~ Jesus Christ. Now, because the Spirit of Christ lives in every ‘born from above’ believing NewChristMan, we inherit the spiritual promise land of the Most HIGH that includes all the blessings in heaven. In Genesis Ch. 22, we are told that God commands Abraham to take Isaac to Mount Moriah and offer him as a burnt offering. On the way, Isaac asks where the lamb for the sacrifice is, and Abraham reassures him, “God will provide himself, a lamb” (Genesis 22:8). At the designated place, God stops Abraham from sacrificing Isaac, and a ram is provided instead. Moses called this place: Jehovah Jira (GOD provides). So, many believers only focus on the fact that GOD miraculously provided a ram, instead of Abraham’s son Isaac for the burnt sacrifice. Most, then generalize GOD’s provision to Isaac as a promise for GOD to provide all their needs - similar to the health and wealth false doctrines.
There s a deeper ‘spiritual’ meaning of this verse. Abraham’s “lamb” can be seen as a type of the Messiah, the Lamb of God who would be sacrificed for the sins of the world (John 1:29; Isaiah 53:10). In this sense, God’s provision of the lamb prefigures the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Abraham’s faith (trust & obedience) in GOD’s Word ~ Jesus was credited to him as GOD’s righteousness and his salvation. The Apostle Paul tells us: “The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning One person, who is Christ” (Gal. 3:16). Paul here, is telling us that all GOD’s promises were spoken to only one (1) of Abraham’s children ~ Jesus Christ. Now, because the Spirit of Christ lives in every born from above believing NewChristMan, we inherit the spiritual promise land of the Most HIGH. This is basis of the NewChristMan being 'born from Above' and saved by Grace through faith in the "Lamb of GOD" ~ Jesus Christ-!
