This song is based on this scripture: “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mk. 9:24 ). The setting is a 1st century image of Jesus healing a demon possessed boy. The image reflects the boys' father on his knees weeping (surrounded by disciples) asking Jesus for more faith to believe that his son can be healed.

25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer” (Mk. 9:25-29).

This father of the demon possessed son genuinely admitted that he had faith, but knew that he had some doubts and needed to be totally dependent upon God. Faith is a Gift from GOD (Eph. 2:8-9). Growing in faith is a constant process of daily renewing our trust in Jesus. Prayer demonstrates our reliance on GOD as we humbly invite Him to fill us with His faith and power.

This song explores themes of faith, grief, darkness (depression), and the struggle to remain steadfast in one’s trust in Jesus who is GOD. The meaning of the father’s prayer represents a humble, honest admission of having both faith and doubt simultaneously. Faith is a constant process rather than a static state because it involves the ongoing, daily effort of renewing one’s trust in Jesus. Believers must humbly invite God to fill them with His power and faith repeatedly, demonstrating a continuous reliance on Him. This is called “Putting-On the New Man” in New Man Bible Theology. Having faith often exists alongside doubt. The process of faith is the honest, daily practice of choosing to trust God despite those lingering uncertainties. Faith is a Gift from God and maintaining it requires active participation and consistent meditation the Holy Spirit’s still small voice, as we listen in prayer.

LORD JESUS ~ thank you for giving up your Divine Spark through your blood and death sacrifice —Saving me from my SINS, and Awaking my divine Spark to be Born Again into my Higher-Christ-Self.
HOLY Spirit ~ thank you for filling me again and again, to set my SPARK on Fire.
HOLY Trinity ~ thank you for living in my Higher-Christ-Self to glorify GOD with my life this day. Amen-!
